Another thread on Special Maneuvers

Like many, these never get used in my game - not because they're not desireable, but their effect is just not enough in most cases to justify -4 to hit AND no damage.

Has anyone tried just allowing them at a normal chance to hit, still with no damage?

(Or am I reading the rules wrong and the -4 also includes damage at the same time?)

several power bumps have been proposed, including letting you see the result of the roll first and choosing to switch to a maneuver if you hit by more than 4

In DCC RPG, you get damage and the maneuver.

Or, you could still hit if your attack throw equaled their AC, but was less than their AC +4.

I'm minded to change the default penalty to -2.
