Episode 7: The Changing of the Dice
So, I swapped out my dice for a different set of D6. Will it make a difference?
Class selected: Cleric
Proficiencies: Divine Blessing, Theology
Gear: Holy Symbol, Mace, Wooden Shield, Banded Plate, Small Sack, 1 week’s rations
Class selected: Bard
Proficiencies: Magical Engineering, Knowledge (History), Performance (epic poetry)
Gear: Crossbow, Case with 20 Bolts, Short Sword, Dagger, Leather Armor, Backpack, Journal, Quill & Ink, 1 week’s rations, 20 gp
Notes: A low intelligence historian. Dropping Str to 10 to raise Cha to 18 is a (sorry) no-brainer.
Class selected: Assassin
Proficiencies: Fighting Style (two weapon), Intimidation
Gear: Crossbow, Case with 20 Bolts, Sword, Dagger, Leather Armor, Backpack, 2 weeks’ rations, 6 gp
Notes: This really isn’t going well.
Class selected: Fighter
Proficiencies: Alertness, Signaling
Gear: Pole Arm, Mace, Wooden Shield, Chain Armor, Backpack, Lantern, 2 Flasks Military Oil, 1 week’s rations, 10 gp
Notes: Not horrible. If exchanging stats, I would have considered Barbarian and dropping Wis, Dex, and Cha to boost Con.
Class selected: Thrassian Gladiator
Proficiencies: Fighting Style (Weapon & Shield), Manual of Arms
Gear: Whip, Pole Arm, Net, 2 Swords, Steel Shield, Chain Armor, Backpack, Amphora of Oil, 2 weeks’ rations, 42 gp
Notes: How very average. Not a single stat modifier. Dropping two stats to get Str to 13 would be worthwhile, but there aren’t enough points there to get to 16.
The Cleric is an obvious toss, and I think the Gladiator and Fighter are keeps. The Bard is probably the third keeper, for that Charisma bonus with NPCs. Just don’t put the Bard in charge of anything.
