In-Character 4 Predator and Prey

Kaul looks around worried tha the sound might atract unwanted attention.
Miska concentrates on the other members of the party, checking to make sure all the ones he should be able to see, he can see.
From where Miska stands, most of the party is visible, though Kaul, Gwydion, and Dagmar are out of sight.
Kerrick takes a step back and looks at Hengist, holding up three fingers...

Hengist, pleased to find himself with room for a running start, puts his shoulder into helping Kerrick.

Kerrick then counts down; 3, 2, 1, and follows up with another kick to the door.
As Kerrick reaches zero, he raises his knee again, and Hengist charges the door. The pair manage to time it surprisingly well, and the door shudders heavily in it's frame, yet stil holds. It is quite clearly barred from within, as the latch would have surely given way otherwise.
Kaul looks around worried tha the sound might atract unwanted attention.
There is another hollow "boom!" as the two warriors slam their weight into the door. Undoubtedly anyone nearby with ears to hear will be aware of the commotion.
Aria stretches like a supple cat and twirls her blades. It'll be more fun now without surprise.

Gwydion remains alert, keen to prevent any from escaping without his notice. To that end, he keeps his dagger drawn.
Gwydion can hear speaking from within the building, its pitch rising and falling. For a moment it seems the language is Elven, but Gwydion then realises the words seem unfamiliar.

Hengist

Window?  I'll try the nearest pair of shutters; if I find they're latched I'll try to break through.

Hengist moves over to the window to the left of the door, attempting to smash the shutters in with the butt of his spear. He hammers at them, but only manages to push them inwards, jamming them in the window opening. He could easily take a bit longer and simply smash them to pieces.

Listening at the rear, Gwydion hears something else in Elven.

Gwydion

Gwydion hisses: “They prepare for us.” To Dagmar, he whispers, “Prepare your spear: they may try to escape out the building’s rear.”

Gwydion then assesses the palisade at his location. Is there an obvious way over it or through it?

This hasty assessment complete, Gwydion bellows in a voice of Command, "Surrender and you shall be spared! Do not, and your lives are forfeit! Our orders bear the seals of Blackmarsh and Greywood: we shall brook no delay!"

Finally, as his companions finally break inside, he yells in imitation of the second voice he heard, in Elvish, "They attack also from behind! Fly into the street!"

Hengist

I will clear the rest of the window with the butt of my spear, enough to make an opening.  "If only we had something to throw in!"

As Hengist smashes out the slats on the shutter, he catches a glimpse inside the cottage. Near half-a-dozen elves can be seen, one of them raising a shortbow and hastily firing in Hengist's direction...but the missile embeds itself in the wall inside the building. Just before Hengist jerks his head back from danger, he sees another group of elves, four in all, and strangely luminescent in appearance, rush the towards the front door of the cottage...

Actions and Intiative rolls, please!

Gwydion

Gwydion does his best to imitate the voices he heard, yelling in Elvish, "They attack us from behind! Get into the street!"

Kerrick Helmsworth

Kerrick (who does not speak Elvish and can’t see through the window) has only a vague idea what is going on. But he noticed the arrow come out.

He will retain his position in front of the door and set his spear against a charge, preparing to stab any attackers who might follow the arrow.

Kerrick didn't actually see the arrow, but he certainly heard the unmistakable twang of a bow, followed by an impact, and Hengist jerked back slightly from the window.

Masov

...drops his crossbow and pulls his sword and dagger, back to the wall, tensed for a body to come out a window or door to either side of him he can swing at.

Andrew

Andrew will throw a dart at a nearby elf if he has a line of sight.

There is a clatter from the door, and then it abruptly swings inwards. Charging out of the door come...elves...but like none you have ever seen. Gaunt, ethereal-looking, their dead eyes alight on the party as they charge forth, straight into Kerrick's readied spear!

In future, if you're attacking, please provide an attack and damage roll with your weapon of choice. Kerrick can go ahead and attack now, as he is attacked in turn.

Kerrick Helmsworth

Kerrick’s eyes widen with surprise as the elves charge, but he manages to keep his spear up and thrust.

((I assume they are acting above initiative 0, which means my spear is not yet readied for charge, thus only 1d6 damage.))

(( Additional rolls just in case that killed him and I cleave. Though with only 5 damage thanks to my roll of 1, there’s a decent chance he’s still alive.))

Gwydion

Gwydion seeks some way to climb up the wall in order to increase his chances of observing anyone attempting to escape out of the rear of the building.

Masov

...attacks when his turn comes up; closest moving ghoul-elf within reach.

...and hits AC 3 for 4 points.

Kaul

Not having precise shoting i will limit myself to stand ready in case other combatants apear and say "kill Cinys kill!" to mytrusted dog.

Cinys runs and will try to bite the closest elf in the cabin.

Miska will wait, and prepare to back up any of the party members engaged in combat if they appear to be losing, or ready to attack/tackle one if they try and flee.

Gwydion checks the palisade, only to discover that climbing up it appears far more daunting than climbing down did. Moving over to the building, Gwydion begins attempting to shimmy up the palisade, his back against the building, his feet against the wall.
Kerrick's eyes widen with surprise as the elves charge, but he manages to keep his spear up and thrust.
Barely managing to get his spear in place, Kerrick braces as the lead elf slams bodily into him, the elf's expression unchanged as he is impaled on Kerrick's spear. Struggling to keep from being forced back, Kerrick tears his spear free and shoves the elf backwards. The elf's companions attempt to force their way forwards, seemingly oblivious to their companion's injuries, but they are confounded by Kerrick's efforts.
"kill Cinys kill!"
At Kaul's command, his growling hound launches itself towards the door to the cottage, slamming into the lead elf in a flurry of teeth and fur! Clamping down on the gaunt elf's calf, the hound shakes its massive muzzle, the sickening sound of cracking bone ringing out as the elf collapses without a sound. No sooner does the elf fall, than its form begins to...change...becoming misty, translucent, before fading from view. Non-plussed, the hound launches itself at the elf behind, leaping onto his chest and clamping down on the elf's throat. The wound is strangely bloodless, and as the hound digs in and worries at it, the second elf noiselessly crumples, his form also losing its distinct edges as it fades like mist burning off in the morning sun. The dog then bites at another of the strange, deathly elves, savaging the third's leg below the plaited edge of its leather skirt. As with the others, the wound is bloodless, and the elf is eerily untroubled by it, raising its massive sword to strike the dog...
Masov drops his crossbow and pulls his sword and dagger, back to the wall, tensed...
As the strange, gaunt elf seemingly throws itself on Kerrick's spear, Masov leaps forward to stab the elf in the lower back with his blade. Yet before he can connect, Kaul's hound hurtles into the elves, finishing two of them before Masov can strike. The dog manages to force its way into the doorway of the cottage by killing two of the seeming phantoms, and there are none left with reach of Masov's blade.

Another arrow is loosed from within the cottage, but this time the target is the embroiled hound, the arrow striking the dog's exposed flank! The dog lets out a plaintive yelp, but the wound doesn't appear deep, the shot a glancing one.

Cynis is now in the doorway, attempting to kill the remaining elves. Kerrick stands directly in front of the doorway, spear at the ready, with Masov to his right beside the doorway. Hengist stands at the window to Kerrick's left, the slats of the shutter mostly smashed. Gwydion is working on climbing to the top of the palisade at the rear, and everyone else is in their original positions.

Initiative, Actions and Rolls for the next round, please (feel free to roll Initiative before announcing what you are doing unless you are planning to Cast a Spell, Withdraw, or Retreat).

Kerrick Helmsworth

Assuming space is available, Kerrick will move forward to join Cynis in elf-slaying. (More generically, as things may happen by his turn, he will move forward to attack elves.)
