While I can find numerous examples of Extraordinary Damage in particular spells, magic items, creature descriptions, etc., I cannot find an actual definition anywhere in the rules. Is there some blanket effect of Extraordinary Damage as compared to Mundane Damage? I feel as though I am missing something obvious here…
Extraordinary damage is simply damage that is not mundane. I purposefully left it vague because - I’m not joking - every attempt to define it spiraled into a flame war that involved giants attacking castles, bears attacking ghosts, catapults attacking dragons, and more.
The only meaningful game effect of extraordinary damage is that some creatures are resistant or immune to mundane damage. It’s ACKS equivalent of “can only be hurt by magic weapons”.
