NPCs by level chart

One of the things that make ACKs great for world building is the underlying economic system on which it is built.  It provides the basis for a distibution of class levels based on 1 gp = 1xp.  I have used those numbers (in ACKs core) to create a list of how many members of each class there are at each level.  The percentage of each class is divided into levels 1-5 and levels 6+.  This has been very helpful as my PCs are moving into the domain game.  Especially for determining the level of the leaders of the various churches and criminal syndicates.

I used the entire realm numbers to determine the total number of higher levels in the entire realm and made the assumption that most of the high level NPCs would be in the capital.  I then increased the number of high levels in Adamas to fill the positions of leadership.  

The percentage numbers are different based on the underlying culture.  For example, in Yethlereom, a city run by Lawful nectomancers, there are no clerics, but a higher number of mages, etc.

Below is an excerpt - specifically the list for Adamas.  SB = Scarlet Brotherhood (assassin's guild syndicate), DB = Dock Boys (criminal syndicate), ATG = Adamas Thieves Guild, NB= Nightblades (elven criminal syndicate), DB = cult of chaos worshipping assassins.  The highest level person is the despot, a 12th level fighter. Smugglers, Merchants, Innkeepers, Sages, War Mages are custom character classes.  Nobles include warlords and are custom classes mentioned here on the forums.

I assume this squares with the "5% arcane, 10% divine, 45% warriors, 40% rogues" breakdown of classes by type that ACKS assumes?

I used the default for # per level but not the default % per class.  

Slightly higher % of mages (9%) and divine (17%) and lower rogue (20%) and fighter (36%) with economic (6%), non-human (7%), and other (e.g. mystics, shaman, various specialist classes) (5%) added in the mix.  I guess the economic would be closest to the rogue, bringing them up to 26%.  Many of the non-humans are fighters and rogues (elves and craftpriests being rare). I changed the default values to fit my view of Adamas in light of the proximity to Dwimmermount.  It represents the source of all arcane and divine knowledge.

I also assumed that higher levels would be different from the default, so I changed them as well, with a higher percentage of mages, non-humans, and others.
