Typo in Judge's Journal appendix E

Caloric Return on Acreage:

A mixed farm also produces 3,978 gallons of milk, each worth 2,400 calories per gallon, for another 952,800 calories.

This number appears to be off by a factor of ten.

That is eagle-eyed. Thank you for spotting it.

The mixed farm produces 397 gallons of milk, not 3,978. It has 3 cows and 32 sheep, compared to an equilibrium herd of 16 cows (which produces 1,200 gallons) and 16 sheep (86 gallons). Total is therefore (3/16 x 1200) + (2/1 x 86) = 397 gallons. I have no idea where the extra digit came from. The caloric total is exactly correct at 397 x 2,400 = 952,800.
