Hi!
In RR 168 we can read “A henchman who is given a domain to rule as a vassal does not need to be paid a wage if the domain income is equal to or greater than his wage.”
And in the next column “Henchmen cannot themselves have henchmen unless they rule domains appropriate to their level. A domain is appropriate to their level if monthly domain income is at least equal to 50% of their wage.”
Later, in chapter 8, RR 342, in Magistrates section: “The salary does count as domain income for the magistrate and grants campaign XP to the extent it exceeds the magistrate’s GP threshold (see p. 423).”
And after that, in RR 423 “Magistrates treat their salary as domain income (p. 342) for XP purposes.”
So, if a henchman is working as magistrate (not as vasal ruler of his own domain…only as a magistrate of his PC domain) and he gets a high enough domain income:
-
Can the PC stop paying him his monthly wage?
-
Can the henchman have his own henchmen?
In other words: is domain income from magistrate salary equivalent as a vasal ruler domain income for wages and hechmen purposes? Or does the henchmen mandatory need to be a vasal ruler?
Thank you.
