First Backer-Commissioned Illustration for the Player's Companion

One of the rewards that backers of the Kickstarter for the Adventurer Conqueror King Player’s Companion can claim is to describe their vision of one of the new classes in the book. John and Laura Lakey have now completed the first illustration based on these backer descriptions. Here’s the iconic image of the dwarven machinist that will be published in the Player’s Companion:

The Lakeys were working from the description provided by backer Jason Smith:

I picture a dwarf in leathers covered in widgets and doodads, with a hooded cloak, some goggles, and a big tool belt. He’s wielding an overly complicated arbalest with a scope, a clockwork winder, and other tweaks to it.

Along with him, he’d have an automaton in the shape of a large, metal bird-of-prey.

If you’re a backer at the Visionary level or above and haven’t gotten your description to the Lakeys for illustration yet, drop us a line at orders@autarch.co and we’ll help get that process rolling - I’m eager to see some more of these!

Wow, that artwork is really great! Is there a gallery with more? I really love the art I’ve seen in ACKS, it’s fantasy based firmly on an understanding of reality.
