Follower Types & Equipment (at long last)

These rules will now appear in the Attracting Peasants and Followers section of Chapter 7. Please let me know what you think. The actual weapons and armaments are based on the Auran Empire proper (pseudo-Roman but with more glaives).

Use the Followers Type and Equipment by Class table, below, to determine the arms and equipment of the arriving followers. Roll once for every 10 followers.

Only complaint: remove the peltasts (slingers) from the cleric/fighter list. Replace with javelin-light infantry or something. Just a preference perhaps, but I’d be pretty disappointed as a high-level cleric or fighter to just get a couple slingers.

Peltasts were a historically important troop type. Why the hate?!

Very nice - that saves a lot of trouble.
Mages
01-50 Clever Peasants with sticks
51-100 Clever Peasants with daggers

You missed flaming brands and pitchforks off the Mage list Undercrypt

The official rules for mages, thieves, etc:
Apprentices (such as 1st level assassins, elven nightblades, mages, and thieves) and leader types (such as 1st-3rd level bards, bladedancers, clerics, explorers, or fighters) can be quickly created using the pre-generated templates for their class, or the Judge may allow the adventurer to generate and equip them using the Character Creation rules in Chapter 1.

chuckle So, how much is a pitchfork?

Gah. If it is a simple peasant pitchfork I’d treat it as a spear, so it costs 3gp. If it’s a true military fork, then it’s a pole arm and costs 7gp.

Haha… I was so taking the piss Alex, but thank you for answering me
