Will the Player's Companion Mystic fot my setting?

I’m thinking about the Mystic character class from the Player’s Companion, which is, essentially, a martial-artist Monk. Will this class suit my Barbarian Conqueror King setting (in a nutshell - Ancient Levant/Aztecs with Dinosaurs and Cthulhu)? I find that hard to decide…

One of my favorite things about the Player’s Companion is the note at the front, to the effect of “This is really more of a DM toolbox, and DMs should feel to take, leave, prohibit, or alter any material herein to suit their games.” If that one class doesn’t fit, don’t permit it. Every campaign a law unto itself and all that…

I can see it working with the geckos and lizardmen - sit and watch the real-life versions sit and watch whatever - maybe they’re meditating.

Plus, there’s precedent, turtles can be ninjas.

hehehe… I might give the Gecko-Man class some Mystic abilities…
