Woot! I received my copy of TSSoS!

Just got mine.  Will be some time before I can sit down to (re-)read it (skimmed the draft anyway), but I have to say I love the art.  Not just the full color interior pieces but the black and white pieces by Sysigo as well.

Hello, everyone! I just posted a major update about The Sinister Stone of Sakkara. You can read the full update here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/autarch/the-sinister-stone-of-sakkara/posts/1427875

Here's what you need to know: Many of you have, by now, received your softcover copy of The Sinister Stone of Sakkara from our fulfillment house. The book is beautiful... except that the printer made an error and accidentally used black-and-white ink on the Player's Map at the back of the book.

We were displeased a lot by this, because we delayed the shipping of the book for almost two months because we worked through multiple proofs to make sure that bleed, color, and format so that this would be the prettiest book we ever delivered.

To make up for this disappointment to our fans, we are offering the following to all the backers who received a flawed book. Please choose from one of the following options:

  • A PDF copy of any of our books sent via DriveThruRPG.
  • A coupon for an at-cost print-on-demand copy of any one of our books.
  • A new color-corrected copy of The Sinister Stone of Sakkara, shipped to you.

Let us know which you option you'd like to take by emailing us at support at autarch dot co. (dot co, not dot com!)

In that same update, we also announced our new Kickstarter and new Patreon. Links are below, and will also be posted separately:

Out of curiosity, is the printer kicking in on the color-corrected copy, or what's the breakdown?

Yes, they are covering part of the cost. They were very gracious about admitting error and offering make-good. (Otherwise it would be totally unaffordable for us to even attempt to offer replacement books).

Hypothetically, if I wanted the coupon for the at-cost PoD printing, would it be possible to get a hardcover copy of a book that is not normally offered in hardcover? (Like TSoSS or the upcoming L&E).

(I recognize there’s a significant cost difference and it’s just not efficient to make it happen but I really prefer hardcover RPG books when possible, especially for supplements :P)

No, we're not making it available in hardcover - as you've seen from our various projects, often our longest delays in product development actually come during the layout/publishing part, so we are trying to make it as lean a process as possible.
