Kaul
On the other side of the roof i will aim and prepare myself, the first head who climbs to the roof will get an arrow.

Hengist
"Is it too soon to loot the bodies? What am I saying, it's never too soon to loot the bodies. Dagmar, let's get your spear back and see what this guy's deal was." So, yeah. Pull the spear free and see what the black-clad man had besides weapons, if anything.
Andrew
After cowering the entire battle so far “Except when people are trying to stab you. Then its too soon. Anyone hurt?”
GWYDION
Gwydion assists in the looting of corpses. He is especially keen to Hengist and Dagmar between any threats and himself.
Masov
...will hopefully close out the combat with a bolt to the fallen climber getting back up.
Kerrick Helmsworth
At first, Kerrick plans to be reasonable and turn around instead of chasing. Then he thinks to himself, “what would Thor do?”
He rides out the gate in pursuit of the former torchbearer, with the intent of making him ‘former’ in more ways than one.
(Dice rolls in case I manage to find him and get an attack off.)
On the other side of the roof i will aim and prepare myself, the first head who climbs to the roof will get an arrow.
Kaul readies himself, standing with his back to the edge of the roof, waiting. He doesn't have to wait long, as a silhouetted shape appears above the peak. Kaul looses an arrow, but it skips off the wooden shakes at the peak, narrowly missing the hunched form. The figure ducks back, letting out a grunting snort.
What is Kaul doing?

Dagmar pulls her spear free as she warily eyes the remaining climber near the inn. The black clad man's body crumples to the ground in a heap. Hengist leans down and rolls the man back, and as his body rolls over, a small glassware flask tumbles from his right hand, some liquid inside sloshing about. A long slim stilleto lies beside his limp left hand.
Gwydion assists in the looting of corpses. He is especially keen to Hengist and Dagmar between any threats and himself.
Pulling back the man's hood, Gwydion notices an ugly scar covers much of the right side of his face, giving his visage the appearance of melted wax. The man's features are otherwise surprisingly plain, with short-cropped black hair and stubble to match. Beneath the man's cowl he wears a suit of fine black leather armor, intricately tooled. At his belt hangs a plain leather sheath, and a quick examination reveals a well-oiled shortsword within. In a small loop on his belt is a metal flask, which appears to be stoppered with a waxed cork. His outfit is completed by dark breeches, and high leather boots.
Masov will hopefully close out the combat with a bolt to the fallen climber getting back up.
Dagmar watches the fallen figure awkwardly rise to its feet, levelling her spear in its direction. The figure's cloak has fallen back, revealing its face. It's face! The man, if that's what it is, is light complected and appears hairless, but there is something very, very wrong with its face. The shape of the face and head are entirely wrong, and its red eyes nearly glow in the moonlight...
The man...or thing...lets out another grunt as it draws a heavy cleaver from its side. It pauses an instant, then lets out a squeal and turns to run...
THWACK!
A bolt strikes the back of the thing's misshapen head, and it collapses forward into the dirt, mid-stride.
Andrew looks over to Hengist, seemingly answering his earlier question...
"Except when people are trying to stab you. Then its too soon. Anyone hurt?"
Hengist appears to be fairly badly injured, though some of those injuries are from earlier. His shoulder appears to be freshly bleeding from neat puncture wound.
Please have Hengist make a Save vs. Poison...

Drawing on the courage of his God, Kerrick jabs his heels into his horse's sides and rides for the gate! He can almost hear the sound of distant thunder...although perhaps that's just the nearby surf. Bolting through the palisade, Kerrick finds himself amongst the relatively open fields between the town and the Temple of Solis. As he turns his gaze askance, he can make out the silhouetted shape of his quarry stumbling across the field towards the stone wall surrounding the temple courtyard. Urging his horse on, he quickly overtakes the figure, moving between him or her and the temple. As Kerrick watches from the corner of his eye, the figure pulls up short, and Kerrick lowers the point of his spear towards them...
"Your allies are slain. Your goal is failed. You cannot win. Surrender."
The cloaked figure takes a seemingly uncertain step back, but his voice is firm as he speaks, "Fool! You cannot harm me! Solis protects me from filth such as you!"
Hengist
"Silver lining, free poisoned dagger if anyone wants it. I'm not sure about this potion though." As I hold it up and shake it for people to see - is it full? Does the wax form an unbroken seal, or just a cork that happens to be waxed? "I think I'll just sit down now." Which I'll do leaning against the wall of the nearest building if I make it that far.
Kaul
Aim and shot, i want that thing dead.
GWYDION
Gwydion examines the two flasks. He also glances at the armor and short sword in case they seem of wondrous make. ((Magical Engineering))
Aim and shot, i want that thing dead.
Kaul draws and knocks another arrow, waiting for the figure to again come into view, holding his breath with bowstring held taut. Moments pass, and Kaul finally lets out a long exhalation. From past the peak, he can hear the clatter of his foe moving across the wooden shakes of the roof...then nothing...
Gwydion examines the two flasks. He also glances at the armor and short sword in case they seem of wondrous make.
The flasks seem rather unusual; the first is a tranaslucent, bluish glass, and contains an amber, viscous liquid that appears to be honey; the other is a metallic flask with a wide neck, stoppered with a waxed cork. The cork bears numerous puncture marks in its top surface, as if repeatedly stabbed.
The sword appears to be a well-used but well-kept blade. It is oiled and honed to a sharp edge.
The armor is quite striking, and obviously of far higher quality than the rest of the man's garments. Upon closer examination, it appears the tooling has actually been made in the form of protective arcane runes, whorling across the edges...
Masov
If he can maneuver himself into a view of the last climber, he'll do so and take the shot.
Kaul
If there are no more hostiles i will procede to loot the body on the roof.
If he can maneuver himself into a view of the last climber, he'll do so and take the shot.
Masov spots the last figure running from the peak towards the east edge of the roof, and quickly reloads his crossbow. As the figure lurches over the edge in an attempt to downclimb, the Bard looses a bolt at it, striking home. Arms thrown out, the figure tumbles to the ground below, landing with a heavy thud.
If there are no more hostiles i will procede to loot the body on the roof.
There are no bodies on the roof. All have fallen due to being attacked. See below for the current situation.
Kerrick is outside the palisade, mounted on horseback and between the torch bearer and the temple. Kaul is on the north edge of the roof of the inn, with no one in sight. Hengist has moved over to several of the bodies at the southwest corner of the inn. Dagmar stands near the southern edge of the paddock with her shortbow ready. Masov stands just north of Dagmar, having just fired a shot from his crossbow that felled the last climber as it tried to descend from the roof of the inn. Gwydion kneels beside the corpse of the black clad individual, examining a pair of flasks. Andrew stands on the road south of Gwydion, deciding who most needs his healing skills (that would appear to be Hengist). Aria and Miska just came around the back of the inn's stable into the road.
What is everyone doing now?
Kaul
I will climb down and join the rest of the party in the looting as any decent thief should.
Kerrick Helmsworth
Kerrick continues speaking to the former torchbearer.
“The eye of Solis is turned away from you. By your own choices you have entered into darkness, and forfeit the protection of the light.”
“I offer you one last chance to surrender. We require an explanation of your crimes, and you may be allowed to purchase your life with one.”
Hengist
I think I misremembered what Hengist was doing when I did that last map and post; I had him move towards the other bodies, but I believe he was going to lean against the nearest wall. ... Let me know if you want him somewhere else.
I'd meant to be leaning against the wall by B, with Dagmar as well, after checking the black clad body. But, since no one else is on it, I'll head from there over to the ill-omened sack to check it out. If I happen to see the spear I threw on the way over I'll grab it first. I know it's dark, but it should have hit the torch-bearer very near there.
To be clear, Hengist currently feels injured, but only a little worse than before.
Do I feel like I could fight? March? Forced march? Does the newest stab wound feel odd in any way? Hot, cold, more or less painful than the other times I've been stabbed?
GWYDION
Gwydion provides assistance with looting. In his efforts, he attempts to be very thorough, checking boots, belts, armpits, and hats.
Masov
'Hey, ya'll - Kerrick rode down the road that way after someone - loot could wait, perhaps?'
Masov will trot at whatever pace allows him to reload down the road.
Much the same as the handful of injuries you've had before. The wound hurts, but doesn't feel otherwise unusual.
